Do I Find Purpose in My Work?

Well, obviously! I wouldn’t be writing here if it didn’t give me a sense of purpose.

I don’t think I understood how much my words could reach out to people until they did the first few times. I was surprised because I had only just started this blog back then. It took me a while to pick up the slack and start maintaining a regular approach to writing on this blog, but now I have something to look forward to every day— especially because I love writing!

Writing regularly has made me dig a little deeper more often than I usually do. It has made me see things through several different perspectives. Every story is just as fascinating to me as the last, and I find myself telling people that I’m a ‘content writer’, something that I’d been itching to say for years now.

I guess it all worked out because I had always wanted to do this. I’m still working to get where I want to be next. There’s a very beautiful thing that I learned at one of the camps that I’ve been to: “Always aim for the infinite because you never know when you’ll achieve your goals. No one knows what comes after that! The infinite is what gives you a bigger purpose.”

So, in three short years, I’ve established myself as a content writer. That’s one major goal crossed off my list of things to do. What’s next? Maybe a few books, maybe a podcast with my best friend, maybe a TED Talk? (I wish!) The point is, I don’t know! I’m out here working hard and winging it when it comes to life and hoping that my words somehow make a difference to everyone who reads my posts regularly.

If this is the purpose I find in my work, then I guess I must have it pretty good. Or maybe I like saying ‘Try me!’ when life throws a wicked curveball my way. Who knows!

Here’s to everybody who gives my purpose an extra little something!

Yours truly,

The Shubhster. Xx
