Life. Sorted.

09th June, 2019

“Dear Diary,
I often wonder whether I am crazy to want to document every bit of my life, either through photographs, or my blog, or writing things down in journals. Is that normal? I say I’m not a control-freak, but maintaining multiple journals sounds exactly like the kind of thing a control-freak would do. Guess I gotta own that about myself, huh? But ever since I’ve started journaling, I’ve never once had to wonder what I could be doing with my day instead of sitting around. I’m so much more productive. I feel like I really do have it together.”

For those of you who follow me on my social media handles, you know that I am a sucker for journaling and I often share pages from my journal as and when I see fit. I just feel like it’s much better to be able to log things down so that I can manage time better while also being way more productive than I used to be. So far, my journals have been a blessing in disguise because they allow me to reflect on how I’ve been doing so far.

Of course, I’m hardly perfect and I don’t always follow things the way exactly as I have written in my journals, but who does? It’s supposed to be a simple overview or a checklist of how my day is supposed to look, and not my life planned down the very last minute leaving no room for flexibility. I don’t believe in making such a tightly planned schedule that I miss out on the more meaningful people and moments in life. That never was, nor will ever be the plan.

The whole reason why I started journaling was that I thought it would organize things in life, and I am so not disappointed with the results so far. It takes about ten to fifteen minutes of my day for journaling, and it’s almost cathartic to write down positive thoughts as my day begins and ends.

Not to be pushy here, but it’s a lot like meditation and self-reflection and it’s something that I would recommend to everybody I know. I gifted my best friend a hand-made journal for her birthday because she is an extremely busy girl in the hopes that it would make her life a little better and from what I’ve heard, the journal is helping her.

I’m glad I chose to do this, and it’s quite literally the one thing I own that I am really, really grateful for. So, how about you consider picking up a notebook and start today?

Cheerio! Xx

Hey guys! I hope you liked my blog post. For day 9, I had to write about one thing in my possession that I am grateful for and my journals fit the bill. I would love to hear what possession you are grateful for! I’ll look forward to hearing from you.
Yours truly,
The Shubhster.
