In the Cards.

Life is so unpredictable. You never know what’s going to happen in the next few moments of your existence. There are probably a million permutations and combinations to how your next hour is going to play out. Keeping that in mind, imagine how many different ways there are for your existence to unfold in the next day, the next week, the next year, the next 10 years. Must be a fun exercise for your journal! Point is, there is no way life has just one door open for any of us. The possibilities alone are endless and so are our options.

And that is why we cannot put all of our eggs in the same basket. There is so much more to life that none of us has ever experienced in theory yet. How are we supposed to live our lives to the fullest if we convince ourselves that there is no other way to live it except for playing it by the same old rules that probably don’t even apply today? We’re not always going to get the things we want to in life, and that is okay. Think about it! Dreams and goals would lose their value if every single one of them was attainable.

Let’s start small. I got a haircut today. I had been growing out my hair for years now because I wanted longer hair. I just needed a trim today, nothing drastic. But when the stylist was done with my hair, the length was a lot shorter than I would have preferred, and I’ll be honest, it kind of broke my heart a little. But it took me about 20 minutes to get used to my new hair and I realized that it actually looked cute. I know, I was surprised too! It wasn’t what I wanted, but it turned out to be so much better.

Moving on to something big, now. All of us are given the opportunity to pick a direction to walk in. Some choose to walk on the road they’re expected to walk on, some decide to bend the rules and go in a completely different tangent, and some others decide to go in the exact opposite direction. There is no right or wrong here, though. Everybody’s allowed to do whatever they want in life. But sometimes, we all walk head-first into a dead-end and end up feeling like there’s no way out.

But guess what? There is. You do the exact same thing in your everyday lives! You encounter a dead-end, you retrace your steps and go back a few paces, only to try a whole other direction. So you lost your way a little bit. Big deal! It’s not the end of the world. You never know what’s waiting for you around the corner. Might not be what you expected but it might just be so much better than that, even if you don’t always realize that right away. That’s a common, human mistake that we’ve all made once or twice in our lives.

when its real

It’s like a push and pull. The Universe is always trying to maintain balance and all that, whether you want to believe it or not. But there is no such thing as a ‘meant-to-be’ or ‘destiny’ until you’re willing to work for it. Contrary to popular belief, we’re destined for more than just one thing in life. Maybe one of your dreams didn’t work out. Don’t lose heart, because as long as you’re alive, you’re always given opportunities to draw up new dreams and realities for yourself. Life goes on and it’s only ‘in the cards’ for you if you’re willing to give it your all.

Dreams are dreamt, dreams die, new ones take their place and new doors open every single day. This is not the end of the world for any of us, okay?

Cheerio! Xx
