Dreams to Life.

I don’t really have anything to say today because I am still reeling from an artwork that I made. It might just be my best work so far. I realize I keep telling myself that after every artwork I’ve made lately, and that’s exactly what making real progress feels like. The first time I made a highly detailed sketch, I thought that I could never outdo that one. But I did, again and again. Maybe it’s because I keep wanting to aim higher every time, but the happiness that I feel after a work well done is pretty much the best thing ever.

It’s one of those things that you want to shout about from the top of the world because that’s the kind of rush it leaves you with. I wish I could put that feeling into words, but I am simply unable to do so. And it feels even better when everyone you know enthusiastically shows their appreciation for your work. Because when you spend a long time trying to come up with something beautiful, it feels nice to have somebody to tell you that you’ve done a good job. Sure, we do it for ourselves, but a little bit of appreciation goes such a long way. I am grateful for the group of people who keep cheering me on; it keeps me going on days I don’t want to.

I think we underestimate just how well we can do when we are truly inspired. Bringing an idea that has been on your mind to life is a pretty big deal and I think every single creator knows that struggle on a whole other level. So, yes! I think we deserve to brag about a job well done because we’ve pretty much earned the right to do so. If you’re an artist, just give yourself a hug for always trying to come up with something new. It’s not an easy thing to do and you’re definitely doing a great job of it!

On that note, I’m just going to leave this one right here because I am very proud of this sketch! It took me about three days, give or take, and my heart is so full right now because I cannot believe I could come up with something this beautiful. Here’s hoping I end up surprising myself a lot more!

So, here’s to everyone who asks me how I come up with these things: I don’t. I just go with whatever idea comes into my head and I work on it until it looks exactly like I envisioned it. If you can think about it, you can bring it to life as well. Well, at least if you’re willing to put in the time and effort. It’s crazy how much you can do once you set your mind to it!

What are you waiting for?
Cheerio! Xx

  1. I was just discussing with a friend today, about how it’s the little steps that help you get better at what you do. This feeling of creating something and feeling like it’s the best there is, and then surprising yourself and creating something better- I absolutely love that, and I love how you’ve captured everything so simply and beautifully.
