If Not, I’ll Still Be Here.

I think that, as a person who has been accustomed to constant change for the better part of my life, it genuinely worries me when I find myself in a situation where absolutely nothing changes for a really, really long time. It gives me the impression that I am not going anywhere with my life if nothing has changed about it. It’s one of the things that motivates me the most: the need for change. The need to change things and not remain stationary for long.

I have realized today that I don’t like staying the same. I thrive upon constant change and I like that I don’t have to stay and get too comfortable with certain situations for too long. I am actively trying to embrace change in my life and I think it is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. The more I look at it, the more I realize that it scares me that the rest of the world is going to move on and I am going to remain stuck where I am right now. And where I am right now isn’t such a bad place, either. It’s just that I constantly crave change and there’s nothing wrong with it.

I’ve just spent the entire day trying to write something for my actual job, but instead, I’ve found myself doing just about everything else for me to get my mind off of it. I know that I will somehow make the deadline, but I can’t help but wonder if this is something I am not cut out for. Then again, I look back at my work record and I remind myself that I am a lot better than I think I am in my head.

Which is why, I want to tell everyone who is struggling with monotony to do little things out of the routine and just mess your carefully crafted routine up, a little bit every now and then, because you never know when the monotony is going to hit you too hard. Change things up a little bit. Because if you’re anything like me, if you’re someone who craves change, and wants things to be done differently from time to time, I think it’s important to take the reins in your hands.

Because if not, we’ll never move out of this situation and we’ll never now what change could be like.

Let’s change it up ourselves if no one else is doing it anyway. Xx
