Let me hope for a moment of peace,
Let me drift away, wrapped in comfort,
Let me pursue my lofty dreams;
Let me rest without a single worry,
Today, tomorrow, and forevermore–
But can I hit the snooze button? Just 5 minutes more.

What do you mean we’re halfway done with NaPoWriMo season already? Time sure flies by fast when you’re having fun! I sure am. I’ve been writing poems that have been way better than I’ve ever written before, which is surprisingl. But I am also having fun. And I actually have the time to write, these days, which is even more surprising. I guess the real theme of the NaPoWriMo season this year is just being pleasantly surprised.
This has to be one of the most fun prompts I’ve attempted this year. Not only is it just six lines (which is super helpful to people who are stuck adulting for most of the day, like me), it is also written in very simple words. If you want to know more about the prompt via napowrimo.net, I suggest you check out their post for today. This form of poetry uses a lot of repetition, uses only simple language, takes the form of a prayer, and closes with a bang.
Well, I don’t have to explain my poem to you, today. It’s pretty straightforward. And I’ve been sleepy all day, and I’m seconds away from falling asleep even though I’ve only just clocked out of work. Anyone else relate to feeling this burnt out or sleepy, lately? Because, yeah.
Anyway, see you tomorrow with a brand new poem!
Yours truly,
The Shubhster.
If you like my poem, please do leave a comment or follow my blog! I write a lot of random but interesting stuff, and I try to keep it real. I’d love it if you went ahead and checked out more of my work, while you’re still here. If you think someone you know would appreciate the things I write, feel free to share my page with them! You can also reach out to me on my Twitter or Instagram handles. I always appreciate seeing new people come up to me and tell me they like what I write! It doesn’t happen as often as I would like for it to, but let’s change that, maybe?
This has been day 15 of 30!
See you tomorrow?
Cheerio! Xx
