#NaPoWriMo Day 18: Dearest Reader.

Ink bleeding on paper,
I scrawl out words and verses,
Scoring out scattered nonsense,
And writing it back because it made sense again.

Though I keep a lot hidden,
I let you in on a few secrets.
Just enough to keep my words alive.

But you, dear reader,
You’re why my words shall live on.
So long as there’s a single soul,
Waiting for this ‘nonsense’ I scribble,
Reading, smiling, laughing at them.
Perhaps you tell your pals about these,
Or they made you smile someday.
But you, dear reader,
Gave me a million reasons to write,
To spin more of these yarns—
And for that, I’m so grateful.

If not for you,
This would remain buried,
Lost in time. Gone forever.
But it’s still here and so am I;
Thanks for keeping me afloat.

Hey everyone! In the spirit of National Poetry Writing Month, I will be writing some poems for every day of April. Each Day will have a new prompt. I hope I can keep up with the challenge. You can join me in celebrating #NaPoWriMo 2019 and check out the prompts here. I’ll look forward to hearing from you.

Yours truly,

The Shubhster.
