#NaPoWriMo Day 12: Wisteria The Tall.

I have never really been the best with fiction. More like, I haven’t been the best at developing my skills as a story writer. The best I’ve done is a few short stories based off of prompts back when I was six. Nevertheless, I’ve always wanted to write a story I’d be proud of, someday. Of course, none of my prose poems are exactly fiction or stories that I would expand into something bigger, but writing this one gave me a lot to think about!

Today’s prompt via napowrimo.net was to write a tall tale about a fictional figure. Basically, it’s just a poem with a story that is exaggerated, sort of like a fairytale. The easiest way for me to go about it was to flip around a few pages of a few books, pick out random words, and come up with a tall tale out of them.

So, I hope you like my poem!
Happy reading. Xx

Hear the tale of the enchanted realm of Elysium, wrapped in the fragrance of blossoming flowers, the Moon cast her glow upon the land several eons past. There once lived a sorceress of Fate, of unparalleled power and grace, they called her ‘Wisteria The Tall’, they said she was cradled by Wind itself, and was born under a canopy of stars. Worshipped by her subjects, she was no less than a deity, she possessed and weilded power as mysterious as the night, and just as deep. Her staff made of ancient vines, carved from the Moonlit Grove shimmered with the ethereal light of the stars, her cloak spun from threads of moonbeam itself, Wisteria The Tall wielded the forces of nature with ease.

With her faithful familiar, a nightingale named Aurora, she embarked on a fearsome quest to save Elysium before darkness engulfed it. The legends say when the nightingale sang, even the most troubled souls would find their solid land. Together they traversed the Eternal Sea, with a wave of her hand did Wisteria The Tall quell the Sea Serpent’s fury. Their journey took them to the queen of the Dryads, deep within an enchanted forest, who put their strength and resolve to the test. An encounter with a malevolent Shadow weaver threatened to plunge Elysium forever to rest.

Wisteria The Tall, with her trusted companions and might, her benevolence and power returned Elysium to light. Her glorious tales would forever be sung by the critters and whispered by the leaves, her legend growing with each telling, immortalized for eternity, a beacon of hope, light, and justice, in an enchanted world touched by magic.
