Still That Child.

Swimming in the clouds
A head full of thoughts,
And with the currents
I drift far, far away—
My Mama always said,
‘I don’t know what’s in your head,
But among the stars and the clouds
Is where you should stay.’

She said, ‘Look up,
Tell me what you see.
What do the clouds look like?
What could it be?’
So I let my head run wild,
Back when I was a child
Who would be bold enough
To let herself dream.

Years have passed me by,
But I’m still that child,
And dreams are the only way
I get to steal away from reality.
So, if you find me in a daze,
Looking up at the sky,
Either join me
Or just let me be.
