It has been a wretched, slow day and I have been trying to keep myself as busy as possible, but by some unknown miracle, I was done with all my work for the day by lunch. I’ve had plenty of time to catch up with my Mandarin lessons today, but I spent my time watching a C-drama instead because the fastest way to learn a language is to watch things in that language. Well, as my friend put it, the fastest way, actually, is to interact with people in that language, but since I don’t know anybody who speaks Mandarin, I decided I might as well learn by watching C-dramas. Everybody has their own weird ways of learning, I guess, some weirder than others.
The point is that we all pick things up in life and we may not always know when, where or how we ended up with those skills. Some of them, we cultivate with a lot of hard work and practice, others, we might have picked up along the way just because we thought it would be an interesting thing to know more about. I think we need to give ourselves enough credit for being able to learn something every other day.
Whether it is something about ourselves, about the world we live in, something new, something old, it doesn’t really matter because learning is such a beautiful thing. I guess people will tell you that learning doesn’t count unless it helps you achieve something in life. But that’s not what learning is about, at all! I hope whatever it is you’re learning makes you happy, and I hope you know how amazing you are for always being curious to learn more.
On a side note, I am awfully sorry for the lack of inspired content, lately. I need actual inspiration to write content here the way I used to, a couple of months ago, but I have been going through it and I have decided that I will come back better for NaPoWriMo, which happens to be in less than two weeks, so love that for me! I hope you’ve all been well.
