Life really does throw the most difficult curveballs at you when you’re trying your hardest to get back to doing something that you know you’re fully capable of. Of course, it isn’t the easiest thing to do when you’re trying your best to be a little more appreciative of yourself, but life, as it turns out, is anything but fair.
This is for every single one of you who feels like you’ve been pushing a rock up an endless mountain and the only thing keeping you going is the knowledge that the rock can crush you if you let go of it even for a moment. You’re all trying your hardest as it is, you don’t need others to tell you that you could have done better. That isn’t up to anybody else but you. On some days, we’re just worn down and not up for a battle, so why do we keep pushing ourselves until we’re exhausted to the bone?
The never-ending need to be better than we were yesterday keeps digging its roots into us and there’s no way of escaping it. But you know what they say about the vastness of the term ‘never-ending’; it means that, sometimes, never-ending can spare a minute or two. It means that you’re allowed to take a beat and get yourself together before tackling the heap of problems that is waiting for you. I’m not saying you should put it off for next month, but you can tackle it tomorrow. It’s okay.
Here’s a hug for everyone who is trying their hardest, today! You’ve got this.
