We Just Need A Reason.

A couple of days ago, I came across a post that talked about how beautifully lonely and human it is for our minds to make things up and see things where they don’t exist. In fact, most things we know about the world as it exists, such as the names and shapes of the constellations, not to mention, the names of stars, names of the rivers and cities, and everything else in between.

Why is a constellation called that? You never know. Why do we see arbitrary shapes in clouds? Why do we write poetry from the simple bubbling sounds of the river brook? Why do we paint sunsets?

Maybe it is just a feeble attempt at trying to find purpose in this life. We convince ourselves that something exists because we want something to hold on to. I’m not saying that it makes our efforts invalid. I’m just pointing out how beautiful existence can be.

For once, I am glad to be amongst people who have some really beautiful takes on life. It makes me glad to be a part of this world, no matter how many challenges it may have in store for me. Sometimes, it takes longer for us to register how wrapped up we are in our own little heads that we forget to look up at the world around us. For once, it’s okay to be wrapped up in ourselves because all we are looking for is a reason to hold onto today, and make it to tomorrow.

You’re valid and very much loved. Xx
