Today, napowrimo.net asked us to write a concrete poem. A concrete poem is one where the visual structure of the poem mimics the subject of the poem. I talk about the surface of the water in this poem, so this is more or less an abstract image of what the surface of water looks like. At least I tried.
If you’re here, please also go check out my bestfriends’ pages, Kittu’s Modern Mixtape, and Amour Infini. They are both wonderful writers and they have some amazing works on their pages.
Happy reading! Xx
Sometimes,
The waters are shallow,
And they hold no depth to them.
Sometimes,
The waters are deep,
And their depth
Often deceptively refracted,
Holds no mystery.
And should one venture
Into those deceptive waters,
Always remember.
Not everything is as it seems.
