“I don’t belong here,”
The universal motto of misfits,
Don’t you think?
Boxes aren’t meant for us;
We don’t fit in,
We never did.
And we don’t want to.
Several have failed
In trying to mend our ‘wild ways’.
‘Wild’ because we’re different,
See the world different,
And we like it that way.
Those same old molds bore us.
You call us ‘one of a kind’—
Wouldn’t you like to be, too?
Then why try so hard to change us?
Misfits? More like ‘misunderstood’.

Hey everyone! In the spirit of National Poetry Writing Month, I will be writing some poems for every day of April. Each Day will have a new prompt. I hope I can keep up with the challenge. You can join me in celebrating #NaPoWriMo 2019 and check out the prompts here. I’ll look forward to hearing from you.
Yours truly,
The Shubhster.
