Roads of Yesterday.

Look outside the windows of your memories,
And tell me something honestly:
If at all you could go back,
Would you stay or would you leave?
Walking down the roads of yesterday,
Would you hold on to the one that got away?
Or would you stand by
And watch yourself cry,
Unable to mend the old heartbreak?
And should you take another road,
Would you be where you are today?
Thinking about the possibilities,
How different life could have been,
Would you make the same choices again?
What if you somehow lost your way,
Forever stuck in the past,
With no way to live your today?

But, oh, if you had taken another road,
Would you have been here today?
Let the roads of yesterday be,
You only ever walk them once.
With the past weighing you down,
Today shall never make sense,
So let the memories be but fleeting clouds,
Look back and smile,
Let it go and move on.
