Would a star hold the admiration it does today,
If it ceased to sparkle and shine tomorrow?
Would the astrophile notice, from far away,
If his beloved was drowning in sorrow?
Should the sky be overcast and grey,
Would one still hold onto the hope,
Even if for a mere moment, just to stargaze,
As though tethered to the star from thousands of miles below?
If the night was clear, one would see
The stars have come from aeons before,
And for aeons they shall here be,
Constant, beautiful, and deadly, forevermore.
And if I am made of stardust, perhaps this is also true for me;
A lone cloudy day cannot dull what sparkles and shines brightly.

I really tried my best to work on the prompt, today. I did. But maybe the burn-out is getting to me, and I couldn’t think of anything good related to driving and music in terms of poetry. I have plenty of great memories associated with long drives and music, but I just did not have it in me today to translate that into a nice poem. I know, disappointing, but everyone has bad days.
Instead, I present to you my poem that is exactly about what I’m going through. Burn-outs. Bad days. Moments where I look back at myself from 5 years ago and realize I have lost my sparkle, but have I really? It’s quite straightforward.
Anyway, I didn’t begin to write about this until very late, so I decided to keep it short. But hopefully something good will come to me tomorrow?
Yours truly,
The Shubhster.
If you like my poem, please do leave a comment or follow my blog! I write a lot of random but interesting stuff, and I try to keep it real. I’d love it if you went ahead and checked out more of my work, while you’re still here. If you think someone you know would appreciate the things I write, feel free to share my page with them! You can also reach out to me on my Twitter or Instagram handles. I always appreciate seeing new people come up to me and tell me they like what I write! It doesn’t happen as often as I would like for it to, but let’s change that, maybe?
This has been day 18 of 30!
See you tomorrow?
Cheerio! Xx
