It’s 2AM, should we play a game?
Ask me something, I’ll do the same.
Alright, I’ll admit: it’s all just a ruse—
How else am I to mask those coquettish hidden clues?
But you probably read my mind;
It was you who asked for the game, not I.
Tell me what you’re thinking of,
Is it the ocean, or the stars above?
Do you not see the way I crave
The depths of your mind, and secrets I’ll carry to grave?
Don’t they amuse you, the excuses we make,
To keep our heart-to-hearts going, to stay awake?
How simple would it be if we just confessed,
Let it out, got it off of our chest?
Why don’t we just say how we really feel,
Speak from our hearts and let the veiled reveal?
Play coy all you want, I see right through you.
Two can play this game, if you’re down to.

You can join me in celebrating #NaPoWriMo 2019 and check out the prompts here. I’ll look forward to hearing from you.
