There’s nobody else I’d rather trust,
My secrets are safe with you;
Not once have you let me down.
But now you’re in a corner collecting dust,
And I know it isn’t fair to you,
Shutting you out, not keeping you around.
I’d tell you things no one knew,
You were forever patient with me.
You’d hear me out, not making a sound,
About all the times I felt blue,
Happier moments that I shared excitedly,
And every miserable bit of my meltdown.
I hate that we don’t talk like we used to,
But I also know nothing will ever change.
You’ll welcome me with a loving embrace
When I come running back to you—
Our bond is so special, so strange,
Running its own course, on its own pace.
You’re dearly missed, but this I know,
I’ll see you again very soon.
We can talk all night like we did before;
Now I wonder ‘Where did those times go?’
I haven’t seen you now in many a moon.
Dear Diary, I look forward to seeing you once more.

Hey everyone! In the spirit of National Poetry Writing Month, I will be writing some poems for every day of April. Each Day will have a new prompt. I hope I can keep up with the challenge. You can join me in celebrating #NaPoWriMo 2019 and check out the prompts here. I’ll look forward to hearing from you.
Yours truly,
The Shubhster.
That diary is a beautiful savior of all the writers.

Agree so much! I’ve been keeping one for a very long time now.
