In the past month, I’ve done things I never thought I could do. I wrote every single day and we’re 4 days into May and I still haven’t stopped. This is such a huge shift from writing maybe three or four posts every month, and it wears me out. But at the end of the day, I love writing and this blog is quite literally everything to me.
But one thing is more important than my blog, and that is you guys. My dedicated readers from around the world. I don’t think I could have written thirty poems if it wasn’t for you constantly encouraging me to ‘keep it up’, or ‘never stop writing’. They might sound like really, really small gestures but they mean the world to me and I want you to know that.
Yesterday, when I was going through the daily stats for my blog, I noticed that a lot of you are quite literally the only ones reading my post out of an entire country. And if it were possible, I would thank each and every one of you personally. But I don’t even know more than half of you, so I simply posted a story on Instagram thanking everybody. To my surprise, one person, who happened to be the only reader from the UK yesterday, responded. I have no words for how amazing that is!
Maybe it’s the little things, maybe it’s the power of social media (when used correctly), but it made me realize once again how powerful gratitude can be. All the love we give comes back to us in such beautiful ways. The more thankful we are for everything we have, the happier we will be. That kind of happiness is something we can only hope to achieve.
I say this a lot, but not enough— my blog wouldn’t be where it is right now if it weren’t for you all. Every single one of you is important to me, all those who have been a part of this journey from 2016, and those who have become a part of it recently. So thank you, for so patiently reading and responding to every single post, and for all the love. I wouldn’t be here without you. It wouldn’t be the same.
