Roads to Nowhere.

Caught in a web,
A tangled mess,
The words won’t escape,
No cries for help,
Not a single soul for miles around,
Nobody to come running,
Nobody is listening
No matter how loud the sound.

The ground caved in,
The lights went out,
Suffocating darkness,
Every heartbeat loud,
Bridges fell through
Before anyone could cross,
Nowhere left to go,
No way in and no way out.

Perhaps it is the allure
That roads to nowhere hold,
Homes left forgotten behind,
Only stories left to be told.
Maybe there’s a load that leads back,
But it won’t be tread today,
After all, we have yet much to see,
Things unseen and places far away.

Walls too high to scale,
But a spirit that won’t fade,
A will that won’t be broken
And a mind too stubborn to quit.
The heart of a warrior
And the mind an unwavering flame,
Perhaps there is a way out, after all,
Raised stakes on a losing game.

There are times when we feel like we’re trapped and we have nowhere to go and nobody to talk to. It often feels as though there’s no making out of this mess, but maybe there’s always a way out that we need to fight for. We may be exhausted, but our spirits are stubborn and maybe that’s all that we need to make a difference. It’s something very random that I decided to write today because I don’t really feel like my best self at the moment, but hopefully, there’s better stuff in the making.
Yours truly,
The Shubhster. Xx
