A Dull Day.

“Sometimes, I sit in front of my laptop and stare at the screen, as if willing the words to type themselves will help me, somehow. But isn’t that just forcing something out of myself when I am clearly not in the right headspace for it? And no matter how hard I try to blink these words to type themselves, it’s not really going to happen. Nor is forcing myself to write something going to help

In fact, if you ask me, true productivity doesn’t really happen when you feel the need to squeeze whatever little creative energy you have out of you. The difference between the things we make when we truly put our heart and soul into them and the things we make when we force ourselves is glaring. Which is why we need to understand that we don’t have to be productive all the time.

Even right now, as I type this, I find myself zoning out every couple of minutes and it’s nobody’s fault, really. It’s just that, sometimes, our brain is tired and there are too many thoughts on full volume, so it gets a little hard to focus on the task at hand. It gets repetitive after a while and it takes time to actually break out of the pattern because, by the time you do it, the number of good days is way lesser than the number of bad days and it gets really hard to figure out where you’re going wrong.

So, I’m just going to end this by saying that you shouldn’t push yourselves too hard, especially if you’re in a creative field because you already know that creativity is both endless and limited at the same time. I know it looks like it doesn’t make any sense, but it does, when you really think about it. I hope you find your source of creativity soon.”
