How Would You Know?

Do you ever feel like you’re going to burst if you don’t tell somebody the secret you’ve been keeping for a really long time? Well, I do. I sent out one of the most important emails that I have ever sent till date and I have been on that high all day long. I have no idea how I managed to get anything done today, given how my hands are still shaking from the email I sent today.

I guess, sometimes, you just have to take the leap of faith and see how things turn out for you! That’s pretty terrible advice coming from a person who makes reckless decisions 90% of the time, but okay, whatever. The point is, we all need to let go of the fear that is holding us back, whenever we’re ready to do so. Too soon and we might end up miscalculating the entire thing, too late and well, we end up missing out on opportunities. It’s always scary to let go of whatever has been holding us back.

We might not be headed towards certain doom by not letting go, but we’re not really going anywhere with that, either and it’s just kinda’ boring, being stagnated like that. And we all know what happens to stagnated water over time. I’m sure nobody really wants to waste away whatever time they have left in this world and things are often unpredictable like that.

I’m sure we’ve all got big plans for where we want to see ourselves, a few years from now. And if you don’t have a plan, that’s okay too. It’s not a race, not a competition and certainly not something you should beat yourself up for. Things take their own time and sometimes, we help speed them along. But the best results are the ones you work for.

There’s always going to be a step, somewhere along the way that is going to terrify the hell out of us because there is just so much at stake there, and there’s a chance things might not turn out the way we expect them to. But the best part about all this is that we make these things happen for us on our own terms, and nobody else gets to have a say in it.

Taking control of how things turn out for you is pretty liberating and empowering. Sure, we all find ourselves in tough spots where we don’t really know how to work anything out. But the solution might be closer to us than we think, and it always seems like it’s all impossible until it’s done. And no matter how many times we’ve done it before, there’s always a little voice that reminds you that things might not go the way we want them to. And that is okay!

Remember to fight for what you want and what you believe in. Go ahead and send that email you’ve been holding back because you’re not sure how it’s going to go. Go do that thing you’re worried won’t turn out well. If it doesn’t go well, there’s a lesson or two that we could learn from the incident. But hey, if it goes well…

Well, you won’t find out if you didn’t try, now, would you?

Cheerio! Xx
