I got to sign a copy of my book for the first time, today!
For years, this is something I’ve only dreamt of doing. As I was writing a note along with my autograph on the book, I recalled how excited I had been when I received my very first signed copy of a book by a very famous author. It is one of my most treasured possessions to this day. Now that I think about it, I wonder whether a book that I have signed will mean as much to others as it does to me. But something tells me that my dreams aren’t going to remain just dreams anymore.
It means the whole world to me that I got to sign a copy of my book for somebody because it’s an actual dream come true. You’re probably tired of hearing about it, but when something amazing happens to you and you manage to keep a cool head about it, you begin to see that there is so much more to it. And when you finally allow yourself to realize how big something is, and why you should be more excited about it, you find it all a little too overwhelming than you can handle. After exactly a week of my book having been out there in the world, I can tell you that it is absolutely amazing for people to reach out to me and tell me that they liked reading my work.
People have been sending me photos of their copies of my book, and it amazes me every single time that someone out there chose to invest their time, money, and energy into reading my book, even if it is only because I am someone they have known and believed in for the longest time. That faith is what is keeping me going. My friends and family recommending my book to their circles shows their faith in me and my work, and I cannot put in words how truly grateful I am for all of it.
And to the people who dream, please never give up. Never stop chasing, never stop believing in your dreams because, who knows? Maybe, someday, you’ll get to live the same moments and joy that I am living right now. Maybe it will be even better for you. No matter what your dream is, please never give up.
You’ll thank yourself for hanging in there, someday. Xx
