Out of the Loop.

I’ve spent a great deal of time this week stressing over how I’ve written nothing important at all. I didn’t realize that I was missing out on actually having fun– you know, that thing people do at weddings? I had completely forgotten that I was here to enjoy myself, and not stress over something that I would do anyway.

And then I realized that so many of us forget that we need to have fun in life instead of thinking about work all the time. We have forgotten how to let ourselves sit back and relax. Instead, we keep convincing ourselves that working ourselves to the point of burnout is the only way to move forward. I don’t think any of us ever realize how badly it affects us until much later, and that is something I think that we might need to focus on.

I might not be able to write for a couple of days, or deliver nothing of importance on my blog, but that doesn’t determine my levels of productivity, especially if I’m on vacation. I see a lot of people stressing over work related emails even when they are on leave, and I think that it is just adding fuel to the fire.  It’s important to take care of ourselves even amidst crazy times, and we need to understand that our worth isn’t determined by how much we can push ourselves into burning out.

I hope we can see that, someday. Xx
