#NaPoWriMo Day 2: Inenodable.

Today, the prompt via napowrimo.net was to pick a word from Haggard Hawks’ Twitter page and incorporate it in our poems. I chose the word ‘inenodable’, which means something that cannot be untied. It reminded me of ‘the red string of Fate’ that ties soulmates together. I thought it was a very sweet word to pick for my poem today.

And while you’re here, please go check out my friends’ pages, Kittu’s Modern Mixtape and Amour Infini. We had tons of fun doing NaPoWriMo together last year, and I can’t wait to read all the wonderful poems they’ll write this year.

Happy reading! Xx

All the fate of this Universe,
All the stars aligned,
All the cosmic reason
Has left us inenodable
Which means we’re forever tied
Together,
As one,
In a bond that can’t be undone–

I wouldn’t know
What scares me more:
That this was predestined,
Or that we’ve watched it unfold
In front of our very eyes,
As the string of Fate drew us closer
Only to leave us entangled,
Forever and evermore.

I don’t know you yet,
I’ve never seen your smile,
But it’s the inenodable fate
And I have this inkling–
I know you exist,
Perhaps we’ve crossed paths,
I’ve dreamt of you–
All I know is you’re mine.

Of all things that remain
Invisible,
Inevitable,
But true as the day is long,
The most beautiful I’ve ever known,
Strange, but all too real,
Is the string ties me to you,
Inevitably, inenodably so.
