For the ninth day, napowrimo.net challenges us to write a nonet– a form of poetry that has nine lines, with the first line having nine syllables, decreasing until the ninth line has just one syllable. A fitting prompt for the ninth day!
Also go check out my best friends’ pages, Kittu’s Modern Mixtape and Amour Infini. They’re doing NaPoWriMo with me this year and they are doing brilliantly!
I wrote a set of nonets here, and I hope you’ll enjoy reading them! Xx
The night is coming to an end now,
Beloved, I wish it didn’t–
For, after tonight, neither
You nor I would be whole;
You take part of me,
And I take yours–
You are me,
And I,
You.
Stars crossed above us and left us merged,
You take home words of a stranger–
One you only met last night,
But talked to like you’ve known
One another well,
This must be fate,
If real–
Sadly,
No.
Like a comet passing above us,
This was just a chance encounter,
So, why not leave it at that?
Make this any harder,
And I’ll have to cry
Over regrets
That you know
I’ll have–
Bye.
