A Kid in a Candy Store.

Yes, at the age of 22, I find myself playing Club Penguin because I heard that somebody rewrote the code and kickstarted the whole site again. And I most definitely am not ashamed of admitting the fact that I feel like a kid in a candy store right now because there aren’t the kind of restrictions I had way back when. A lot of people would probably laugh at me for this, but let me tell you why it’s not something irrelevant.

Simply put, the entire world is our candy store. We all want to see the whole world, but neither do we know where to start, nor do we all have the kind of resources required to do so. But that doesn’t stop any of us from dreaming about the ideal life or working for it, does it? We all want to taste that sweet, sweet life, and for whatever fault, this world really is a beautiful place to live in. Funny how it takes something as seemingly irrelevant as a game to put that idea in your head.

We joke about the end of the world because we are all so sick of everything going on right now, but it’s in times likes these that also shed light on the little things that remind us that humanity isn’t really dead. Just when we start feeling like the world should maybe reset and maybe humans are the problem, hope stares us in the face and reminds us that maybe it’s not such a bad place to be in, after all. Hope. The promise that things can be better. Reels us back in.

The reason why I think that we’re all just like kids in a candy store in this world is that it has so much to offer. Or at least, we all should be. There is just so much on all of our bucket lists that we need to strike off before whatever finite time we have all been given comes to an end. It’s like there’s a timer on all of our heads, counting down to the end, and we’ve been told to make the most of this limited time in this world. So here we all are, scrambling around to gather whatever experience flavoured candy we can find before the timer runs out.

Life’s Hallowe’en if you gather enough candy, I guess!

Cheerio! Xx
