I just got done with my commissioned artworks for the month and I feel like I can breathe. But, at the same time, I feel kind of empty inside. I feel restless. I’m suddenly very aware of the slightest of sounds around me and everything looks a lot more dull in comparison to the amount of paint I’d been looking at in these last few days. Nevertheless, I am very happy about it and I am looking forward to working on my own art for the next two days.
Today is just another one of those days that make me think about just how grateful I am for the freedom to be chasing my dreams and manifesting all the good that I want for myself. I have been working a lot more than usual, this month, and it is because I’m slowly getting more commissions for art and more orders for art prints, and it feels amazing to be doing something that I am not only good at, but something I actually like. And I have made more art in this month alone than I did in the entirety of last year and I am overwhelmed by the response I have been getting.
I won’t lie about the fact that it is exhausting to be constantly thinking about and working on new things every single day. Last year, the only thing I had to think about, every day, was what I would write on my blog next. Now that I’ve spanned out considerably more, I find myself draining my creativity more often. Some might say that it’s a bad thing, but I like that I can spend more time doing exactly what I love. It gives me a sense of purpose. It makes me want to do more of it. It makes me want to keep myself busy.
But, we’re all human and we all have our limits. That is why I gave myself these last two days of the month off. I would much rather take a break here and there and get back to working professionally with a ready mind and a full heart than work myself into the ground and then hate having to pick between passion and profession. Think of it as your phone’s battery; you need to recharge it at least once in a day. Considering that sleep is how we recharge our bodies, taking a break to cool off is how we recharge our minds.
You should try it sometime!
Cheerio! Xx
