We’re All Trying.

“Lately, I feel as though I keep running down a road that doesn’t seem to be ending anytime soon. It’s a pretty terrifying feeling when you know you’ve passed the same places over and over, and yet, it just seems like you’ve been running around in circles with nowhere else to go in sight. It shouldn’t feel this way now that I know I have a direction to walk in, right? It shouldn’t feel as though I’ve been doing everything wrong when I have been trying to do my best.

It still feels like failure on some level and I’m not sure how much longer I can keep doing this.

The thing is, we’ve all been taught to value ourselves based on the things we have achieved in life. From the very beginning, we’re only ever told that we’d amount to something if we achieved good grades or won the first prize. It’s not surprising why so many of us struggle to look at ourselves as someone worthy of being loved even when we’re not achieving big things in life. It gets to a point where nothing seems to be working in our favour and we suddenly don’t know how to see ourselves in a good light anymore.

We shouldn’t have to constantly prove our worth to the people around us. We shouldn’t have to constantly prove our worth to ourselves. We just need to believe that we are worthy of love for the people we are.

Maybe it’s a long road that keeps going around in circles, but we could break the pattern if we wanted to.”
