Ran Out.

Ran out of ink, but never out of words,
And I kept going on until
I ran out of pages I could fill
With all of my love and all of my heart.
Declarations spilled out onto
Pieces of paper that I hid away,
Not knowing if they’d ever see light of the day,
Or find their way to you.

Ran out of patience, but never out of hope—
After all this time, what’s a little more?
They say love can move mountains if we want it to,
A force that would take an eternity to run out.
A stolen fraction of Time,
Is that too much to ask?
Our lives are finite here,
But our love never has to run out.

Ran out of misery a long time back,
But never ran out of my longing for you.
How could I when all along
You’ve been in my head and in my heart?
Ran out of ways to say ‘I love you’,
But never out of my love for you—
It’s as infinite as this Universe,
And I know you feel the same, too.
