I Published My First Book!

So, remember that project I had been working on for the last few months? I finally got some news today, and it is more than just good.

My very first book, a poetry anthology titled ‘April Lyrids’ is now available for purchase and I could not be any happier about this. If you are able to purchase a copy for yourselves, please do so. I want to scream about it from the top of all the tallest buildings. My joy is beyond any that can be contained, at the moment. It definitely feels as though I have earned every moment of my happiness and I cannot tell you how amazing this feeling is.

Publishing my own book has been something I have wanted for myself since I was 13 years old, and this has, by far, been my biggest achievement. It definitely wasn’t an easy path to walk. The wait was excruciating. The work that went into it was monumental, and I have put more than just my blood, sweat, and tears into this book. I am so glad that it is finally out there in the world. I am so glad I never gave up on writing poetry because of all the mean things people would say. I feel like I have done everything right by that hopeful little 13-year-old girl who was aiming for this very moment.

To everyone who is listening and to everyone who is aiming high with their dreams, I want to tell you that they do come true. They are not easy to achieve, by any means, but they do come true if you are willing to work for them. Dreams don’t really work unless you are willing to do something about all those crazy ideas in your head. I promise you that you can achieve the things you set out to do, even if you do get back-tracked at certain levels.

I would have never had the courage to take this step and make this book a reality if it wasn’t for all the love and support that I have been given for my writing. It has been the most uplifting and motivating journey so far, and even though there have been speed-bumps, trips and falls, more bruises than I could count, and a lot of stress and tears, I find that none of it matters now that I know that my book is out there. It’s the most real thing to me now. I have a big achievement in my bag and this is something that nobody will ever be able to take away from me. 

This has honestly been the biggest day of my life so far and I am still processing how it went from being a really difficult one to the best day ever within moments. I am probably not going to shut up about this for a week or so. I ask you to bear with me in the meantime, and please give my book a read if you can. Here is where I proudly announce that I am now a published author, and this is just the first step in a very long line of books that I want to write under my name. I feel like a whole universe has been opened for me now, and I could not be prouder about it.
