Since today is the 22nd day of NaPoWriMo 2022, napowrimo.net challenged us to write a poem with a lot of repetition. My poem for today isn’t too long, but it is something.
If you’re here, please also go check out my best friends’ pages, Kittu’s Modern Mixtape, and Amour Infini. They’re both wonderful writers and you’re going to love what they have to say.
Happy reading! Xx
I revisit people,
And places,
And books I’ve read,
Several times,
And all over again–
They’re always new to me,
Always something I’ve missed–
A word, a detail,
A few unread stories.
All lost between the lines,
Lost to memory,
So, I keep them alive,
Fragments of bygone love,
And I visit them several times,
Again, and again,
And again–
Lest their etched traces fade,
And my memory fades,
Ravaged by Time,
With nothing of theirs left–
So, I visit them several times,
And again, and again.
And again.
Until I no longer forget.
