Looking Ahead.

June 01st, 2019

“Dear Diary,
For the first time in forever, I don’t look back at how far into the year we already are, thinking that I’ve got nothing done. In fact, if my year were to end right now, it would be very bittersweet because not only have I done a bunch of things this year, I also have a lot to look forward to. I’m so glad that I don’t have to think about what my day is going to be like. Life’s good.”

Today, I am extremely grateful that I have a tomorrow to look forward to. I have things planned for an entire month and I know I should think about living in the moment. But I’ve done enough of that in the past year and now I’d like to take things seriously.  Granted, my day doesn’t start or end at the same time an average person’s. But that does not mean I don’t hustle towards my goals.

I guess this is also a pretty appropriate time to reveal something I’ve been working on for the past month now. A book is finally in the works and this time, I’ve decided that it’s for real. It’s been a long time coming. I have an outline planned, character sketches written down, arcs in the works— all of it. That’s all I can tell you for now because I’m afraid I’ll go and jinx this!

I’m just so glad that I have finally found a purpose, a direction and I have something to look forward to now. I’m grateful for finally having this part of my life figured out because I can now see things much better.

From where I’m standing right now, things look pretty good. I mean, I don’t know where I’ll be or what I’d be doing this time next year, but I do know that I’m not about to let things slide downhill for once. And neither should any of you. Carpe diem, my friend!

Whatever else comes my way, I hope I have the courage to face it. I hope you all can find it someday too!
