Simpler Pleasures.

June 02nd, 2019

“Dear Diary,
I’ve been doing some thinking and I realized how lucky I am to be able to take a break from everything whenever I want to. I guess part of the credit goes to my incredibly flexible work schedule. A lot of people don’t have that option. I’m just glad that in this fast-paced world that grows with every passing day, I can stand still for a minute to recentre myself and work at my own pace because the only competition I have is with myself.”

Lately, I have realized that it’s the simplest things in life that make us truly happy, no matter how small they are. I think that happiness truly begins when we’re able to appreciate the smaller things that we can still enjoy. It’s one of the many no-so-secretive things I’ve come to realize over time.

Oh, my God! Am I finally evolving into a grown-up? The horror!

Anyway, as I was saying, I think it’s about time that we learnt how to pause for a second just so we can appreciate everything around us. How long has it been since you truly enjoyed a sunset or a cool drink on a hot summer evening? Have we started giving too much time to things, or people, that won’t even matter in a few years, over things that¬†do matter?

So why don’t we all just sit down quietly for a few minutes to be grateful for the smaller, more important things around us?

I’m truly grateful that I can still appreciate the simple pleasures in life. And if you take a minute out of your busy lives to say ‘thank you’ for everything you have or how far you’ve made it, I’m sure you do, too!

Life can be beautiful!

Cheerio! Xx

Yours truly,
The Shubhster.
