Art From Art.

In the last few days, it has dawned on me how one form of art can easily give birth to or pave the way for another form of art. It’s a really beautiful thing to witness how in my life, I’ve been inspired to write more because I read more, to sketch more because I appreciated art more, write more poetry because I learned how to appreciate the importance of music, how I wanted to learn more about art because every form of art appealed to me. Some became an acquired taste, others were simply within right from the beginning.

What’s more, is that every single form of art is so closely linked to another; the more you delve into, the more you realize that you can’t just end up appreciating one out of the many. When you fall in love with art, you fall in love with all kinds of art and that is the solemn truth that a lot of us don’t want to agree with. But the more you think about it, the more you’ll understand that when one art form gives birth to another, the result is so beautiful, I can’t even explain it in words.

It’s like a bag of chips. You can’t have just one and then put the bag away because you know you’ll always want more. And that’s the beauty of art. There is no actual limit to how much art you can consume or appreciate. And what you start looking up to also tends to reflect in the art you make. It’s a wonderful kind of butterfly effect that you have to experience to actually understand. And with the kind of resources we have at our fingertips these days, I’d be surprised if we didn’t even try to find out more.

So when I write about something here, you best believe that I’ve thrown myself into it completely. Enough to even dream about it because that’s how much I appreciate art. And there’s this one particular thing about art that a lot of people don’t understand: art is subjective. What I like doesn’t necessarily have to appeal to you. And we shouldn’t try to force our opinions about a certain kind of art on others either. Because no matter what, really worthy art will always be appreciated, even if it doesn’t always seem like it’s going to be. That, I know.

its art

Art has always been a sort of saving grace in my life and I cannot ever be grateful enough for its presence and for my ability to turn to it in my times of need. We all have some kind of art we turn to. Some of us choose to delve further, while others choose to appreciate it and move on to something else. Either way, I hope you pause and take a minute to understand the power that comes with having art to turn to. If there was any kind of magic to exist in this world, art would cut it pretty dang close.

Here’s to art and to all the lives it can save. Let’s try to show a little more love to all the art that exists in our lives.
Cheerio! Xx
