Kennedy Award of Excellence Nomination!

Just to get an idea about what this award really is, the ‘Kennedy Award of Excellence’ is a registered award of excellence for blogs, sponsored by timelessmind.org. The objective of this award is, and I quote, that ‘The nominated blog, through its writing, presentation and its objectives, fosters human values; promoting intellectual, emotional and moral growth of peers.’

RULES:

  • The recipient may thank the person who has nominated them.
  • The recipient should post a photo of the award in their blog, in a post.
  • The recipient may nominate as many bloggers as they want, after careful consideration (a minimum of five).
  • The following questions are to be answered.

NOMINATION:

First of all, I am thrilled to have been nominated for this award by Darell Philip. He has been nothing but supportive and encouraging as a reader of my blog, as well as a very motivating writer who chooses to spread more positivity through his beautifully insightful work. It is an honour to receive a nomination from a blogger as amazing as Darrel. Thank you so much!

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS:

1. What lessons did you learn from the pandemic (Corona)?
Living through a pandemic, especially when you’re in a privileged position as I am, teaches you a lot about how well you actually have it. It’s not that I don’t realize that otherwise, but it gives you a whole new perspective. I have a roof over my head, I have a very loving and functional family, essentials stocked for days, access to the said essentials and, most importantly, sound physical, mental and emotional health. I realize that a lot of people don’t really have access to either or all of these right now, and that is a good reminder of how well I really have it right now. It’s a real eye-opener because a pandemic can teach you that nothing is ever going to be as important as health and that it takes very little to bring the whole world to a screeching halt.

I also realized that this period of self-quarantine isn’t a vacation. It’s certainly not prep-time either. So I also learned that it’s perfectly fine if you’re not feeling productive right now. It’s perfectly fine if you just want to take a break, too. Because we’re all trying to stay safe and alive. It’s not exactly a getaway right now, so just don’t be hard on yourself.

2. What values drive you?
I’m trying out this new thing called ‘self-love’ because I realized I had been lacking it for a while now, and it is amazing to see how much you can really accomplish when you believe in yourself. Optimism, courage, passion, loyalty and love also play a huge role in what keeps me going. I think that the world could do with a little bit of that right now, too.

3. What is your favourite movie?
I am not much of a movie person, but I have to admit that even at 22, The Lion King is one of my favourites because it always has new lessons for me every time I go back and rewatch it.

4. Whom have you ever loved from your heart?
Wow, that is a heavy question, given that I’m dealing with heartbreak right now. I would like to say that I am an incurable romantic, so when I fall in love, I let myself go all in. I don’t regret it. But if we’re counting the other kinds of love as well, I love my family and my best friends more than anything or anybody else in this world. They mean everything to me.

5. Your dreams in real life:
I’m very much a dreamer, and I’d like to say that I am living the dream of being a writer. I write every single day, and I find myself learning, exploring and growing more with my art. I’d like to see myself following my passion for my art, no matter what else life has in store for me.

I further nominate the following bloggers (Please answer the same questions as above):
Do check out their blogs and show your appreciation for their works.

1. Hearts And Minds by thegirlwithapuzzledmind
2. Million Dreams
3. Believe in Yourself by Saniya
4. Poetry Love by poetrymaniac
5. pillow_thoughts by Anushka

Thank you, once again, for the nomination. This means a lot to me. Writing means everything to me and  I will try to do my best to spread more positivity to as many people as I can if they’re willing to read my work.

Yours truly,
The Shubhster. Xx
