Too Much Going On Up There.

I often wonder why we give our emotions so much power over us. It only takes a second for us to be thrown completely off-course by something that happens during the course of our day and then proceed to mull over it until we are no longer able to focus on anything else for a while. Sometimes, it feels like emotions can be such a burden around our necks because they keep getting in the way so damn much.

Then again, where would any of us be if we didn’t allow ourselves to feel? Aren’t all the ups and downs what make our lives a whole lot worth living? Isn’t it only so beautifully human of us to have the ability to feel things more deeply? Maybe some of us are more sensitive to the emotions of those around us than the others, but I can tell you that although emotions can be overwhelming at times, I wouldn’t have it any other way. It’s only human to have them.

I’m not the kind of person who takes everything in her stride; I tend to mull over things for an unhealthy amount of time. I’ve been told I need to loosen up and try not to take things so personally, and believe me, I’ve been trying my hardest to do so. But sometimes, emotions just slip through and that is okay. If you are someone who can relate to this, then I hope you know that it is okay to not always have a firm control over your emotions. It is just part of being human and we all slip up sometimes.

And for those of you who don’t really show your feelings as much as you think you should, you don’t really have to. Everyone is different and some of us aren’t all that expressive. That’s alright.

We just have a lot going on and sometimes we let it slip out of our control. We’re allowed to express our emotions about it as we see fit.

Don’t deny yourself that. Xx
