“Dear Diary,
I wonder how many people truly love their jobs. I was lucky enough to work someplace where my talents and passion were understood and I was given enough flexibility to continue working on what I love the most— this blog! Of course, I’d like to do bigger things someday, but as a 21-year-old, this is the definition of living the dream because I get to do what I love without settling for anything ever.”
For years. I tried not to let myself be demotivated by everyone who told me that writing would never amount to anything good, and guess what? Today, I am working to prove all of these people wrong. I chose to listen to my heart as a wide-eyed, optimistic, goody-two-shoes 16-year-old, and I might have hit a few snags here and there, but I’ve toughened up since, and the dreams of that 16-year-old have never let me down till date.
Writing has always been my passion. I think it began when my Mom got me a book which had story prompts. As an 8-year-old, I think it was a great achievement to have completed writing stories for all the given prompts by the end of the week. My parents always tell me how much I loved telling stories about things that most people don’t believe to be true, and I still do.
The world has so much to offer, and I would love to add a few more universes to this world through my words. The child in me knows how powerful worlds created by words can be, and I don’t plan on letting her down. Of course, I’ve had lots of help and support from everyone I hold dear in life. They’re one more reason why I’ve never once second-guessed my job as a writer.
I could go on and on about this, but all I can tell you is that if you choose a career based on what you love to do the most in life, you’ll never feel as though you are missing some kind of purpose in life. Sure, doing what you love would mean giving it your 100% and forgetting about a lot of other things a lot of times, but it’s all worth it, I promise.
Chase your dreams, guys. I can tell you that you’ll forever be grateful that you did.
Cheerio! Xx
Hey guys! For day 14, I chose to write about why I am grateful for my job. I would love to hear your thoughts and stories too! Also follow me on Instagram, we can chat! I’ll look forward to hearing from you.
Yours truly,
The Shubhster.
