#NaPoWriMo Day 10: Morning Illusions.

Sunlight
Streams through,
I am awake.

Barely!
What’s real,
I can’t tell.

Dreams
Slipping away,
I cannot shake.

Eyes,
Blurry, unfocused–
Are you here?

Mind
Filled with
Thoughts of you,

Heart
Aching for
Your warm embrace.

Hands,
Reaching out,
Searching for yours,

Breathing,
Slowly, heavily,
Peaceful and calm.

Golden,
Like daylight,
Be this love;

Stay
With me,
Hold me closer,

Illusion
So beautiful,
Let me linger,

Wishing
Moments stretched
Into hours endless.

Love
So deep
I could drown–

Daylight
Wakes me,
You’re already gone.

For day 10, the prompt given via napowrimo.net was to write a hay(na)ku. For those unfamiliar, this is a variant of the haiku poetry where the poem comprises of 3-lined stanzas, where the first line has one word, second has two and third has 3 words. This is something that I’ve never tried before, although I’m a huge fan of minimalist and imagist poetry! I hope you enjoyed reading it! Xx
