Ridiculous Claims.

At this very moment,
If at all we’re apart,
I choose to blame it all
On the cruel hand of cards
That our love was dealt:
So close, but oh so far.

But I would fight fate
If it’s the last thing I do,
You’re worth all the wait,
It’s something I knew
When I was sleepless, up late,
Dreaming, with open eyes, of you.

Songs of love now mean more,
A million meanings hidden
That I didn’t see before,
Stories still unwritten,
So much to live for,
So much to do that we haven’t.

I wake up wishing for you,
Maybe the Universe doesn’t listen,
For my wishes remain untrue;
Hoping against hope, I hold on.
Maybe someday I’ll wake up to you,
But not today, it’s already gone.

Perhaps, you’re wishing the same,
I wonder how you’re doing now—
Do you ever whisper my name
Like I do to the stars above?
You’d call it a ridiculous claim,
But I’ll give you forever with love.
