Do you ever feel like you’re just missing out on stuff?
You blink and then there are a hundred different things that you need to catch up on because, somehow, too much happened and it was a lot more than you could keep up. Sometimes, I wake up in the morning and scroll through my social media, and I see a bunch of people just clinging to some new topic and I just feel like I have missed out on a lot. Whether you call it FOMO or something else, I don’t know.
And when you’re into different things, like I am, you find yourself in 10 different places at the same time because there is a whole lot to keep up with. Not to mention the bunch of things that you’d like to learn someday. There is just too much in this world, and we all get the same 24 hours, but it’s still not enough sometimes.
What brought this on, you ask?
I was catching up on my Mandarin lessons for the day and I suddenly just wondered how long it would take me to actually be good at it. I do want to learn a couple more languages out of sheer curiosity and because I love learning new languages, but I don’t know how that is going to turn out. I know that I have now been exposed to a whole new world of content because I’ve been watching C-dramas and K-dramas, but I still feel like there is so much that I’ll never get to do.
I don’t know what to tell you! I guess today is just about wondering whether I am going to be able to do the things I want for myself. There is so much happening all around us, and it just makes me think twice before wasting any more time on things I don’t want to attract in my life.
I’m sure that a lot of people think about how they’re probably missing out on a lot, so I decided to put this out there to let you know that you’re not alone. And that it’s never too late as long as you can do something about it. People will keep trying to discourage you from trying out way too many things, but who really knows whether there is a limit on things like that, anyway? Sky’s the limit.
I hope all of us going through the same dilemma can figure it out.
