For the last few weeks, I had been working on an artwork that is very dear to me. It is sort of fandom-themed, and it took me a really long time to make because I wanted it to be nothing but perfect. Throughout the process, I kept telling myself to not hold out very high hopes because posting fandom-themed art on social media is usually always a hit or a miss. There’s no way to tell how things might work out for us.
I didn’t think much about it before I decided to post it.
But when I woke up today, I saw that my notifications had completely blown up and my artwork was receiving an incredible amount of response over social media. I’m still trying to process the whole thing, but I am so happy with how things have turned out.
For one, I am glad that I tried to make something even when I was going through an art-block. The result was a lot better than I expected it to be.
But that’s how things turn out for us, sometimes, don’t they? When we least expect them to work in our favour, they do, because hard work doesn’t go unrewarded, even if the rewards do come late. The key is to keep trying and not give up when the going gets hard. Of course, a little bit of slowing down always seems inevitable, but we must have faith in our abilities.
Even if we somehow cannot find it in ourselves to believe in ourselves, we need to keep reminding ourselves why we have chosen this path to walk on and why it’s okay to want to slow down, but not totally give up without knowing that we have given it our everything.
Surprise yourself by actually trying! You have no idea the wonders it can do. Xx
