A mere four-lettered word,
Wraps around, as though a warm embrace,
Wipes away those painful tears.
It’s the sigh of relief;
It’s Hope.
The silver-lining to a cloud,
The slightest possibility of happiness,
Those voices in our heads
Constantly reassuring and encouraging–
That, my friend, is Hope.
The promise of a better tomorrow,
And the strength to face our demons.
Seeing there’s more than just Black and White,
A Yin to every Yang–
That new perspective is Hope.
Knowing that we will smile again,
Feel the all-consuming kind of love again,
Laugh again, dance in the rain,
Forget our pain–
This feeling of joy is what we call ‘Hope’.

You can join me in celebrating #NaPoWriMo 2019 and check out the prompts here. I’ll look forward to hearing from you.
Yours truly,
The Shubhster.
