Heaps of crumpled balls of paper,
Covered in words–
Some scored out, some angrily scribbled.
Bizarre thoughts lie on the floor and yet,
On the desk sits a blank sheet
Asking the exhausted writer to just try once more.
All the times you thought your world was ending,
It never did. Life went on.
You got up, took a breath
And walked out your door.
You kept doing so until one day
You welcomed the new day and every day after.
So long as you live and breathe,
You’ll have endless do-overs.
With lessons learnt from yesterday,
Every sunrise becomes a clean slate.
It’s never over until you say so.
Every morning is a new beginning.

Hey everyone! In the spirit of National Poetry Writing Month, I will be writing some poems for every day of April. Each Day will have a new prompt. I hope I can keep up with the challenge. You can join me in celebrating #NaPoWriMo 2019 and check out the prompts here. I’ll look forward to hearing from you.
