Honey-golden warmth and sparkling stars,
Eyelids glued shut, mouth slightly jar,
Gentle breathing and meaningless murmurs,
So we slip into a heavy-lidded stupor.
Peaceful exhaustion, quietened mind
Left alone, unknown depths to find,
Sinking in still, further and deeper
Into a stronger, heavy-lidded stupor.
And off we drift into a void endless
Where worries cease to make sense,
Time slows down till the sun comes around
As we drown in a heavy-lidded stupor.

It has been a long, exhausting day and I didn’t know what to write here today because everything around me feels like really thick syrup. So I decided to write something with the words that I’ve been playing around with, in my head, all day. And although this isn’t anywhere close to my better works, I didn’t feel like skipping out on a day of writing. I tried, so I’m going to give myself points for that.
