Lifetimes.

Starry eyes and that smile I fell for
Head over heels, madly in love,
And across all lifetimes we shall live,
You’re the only one I’d want.
Never in my wildest imagination
Would I have hoped to dream
That the only one who ever could
Tug at my heartstrings could exist,
And yet here you are in all your glory;
I’m drawn to you so,
As though your radiant glow
Could fix me in ways I never could,
Erase all the scars left behind by the past.
Oh, to have and to hold,
To always be right by your side!
What a dream come true that’d be!
For that’s all it is, right now,
A dream that I’m rudely awoken from—
My heart hammering within me.
You’re nowhere around, still far away,
But we’ll cross that bridge too;
After all, what’s a mere bridge
When I’d scale mountains
And cross oceans for you?
Just a little longer, hold on.
What’s a little longer, anyway?
We’ve got lifetimes to look forward to.
