Worth the Wait.

The silence so deafening and heartbeats loud,
Piercing winter air and burning cold;
Where are you when my heart yearns so?
All I need at this moment is you,
But I feel you slipping away further.
In the darkness, I saw you;
It was always your hand I held,
Why then, do I feel you fading?
Did we drift too far apart?
I don’t want to anymore.
How harsh reality is, how bad it hurts!
Days seem darker, clouds overcast,
Winds gloomy still,
I wonder when misery ceases to last–
For a love like ours can fight destiny,
The truth we know is that we’re meant-to-be,
But we keep stumbling around in the dark,
Looking for somebody to love;
I think I found you.
You’ve always been here, I couldn’t see,
Right in my heart, where you should be,
We’ve crossed the mountains and the seas,
To find a way back to you and me.
So what’s a little longer if for love?
Be still, my heart, for it hurts so,
But patience bears the sweetest fruits–
When your love is in your arms again,
You’ll know it was all worth the wait.
